About the Authors
Dingyu Xue is a Professor of Control Engineering on the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering at Northeastern University in Shenyang, China. He is the author of several influential textbooks and monographs on MATLAB and control in Chinese, cited by thousands of journal papers and theses.
YangQuan Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and the Director of the Center for Self-Organizing and Intelligent Systems at Utah State University. He is the author of three textbooks, three research monographs, 13 U.S. patents, more than 200 academic papers, and more than 50 industrial reports. He has been an Associate Editor on the Conference Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society since 2002, and he helped found the ASME subcommittee on fractional dynamics in 2003.
Derek P. Atherton is Professor Emeritus at the University of Sussex. He has been active in many professional engineering organizations, serving as President of the Institute of Measurement and Control in 1990, President of the IEEE Control Systems Society in 1995, and a member of the IFAC Council from 1990 to 1996.
